Make sure you've got both Step 1 and Step 2 of the USMLE completed BEFORE January of the year in which you'll be participating in the match. Don't leave yourself with a disadvantage over others competing to take your spot.
Even if you're the most eloquent, professional interviewee who blows away everyone who interviews you, you'd still be second to someone who was just an average interviewee who has all those exams out of the way. No matter what you read out there, you MUST finish both USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 to compete for what you want!
